Mammoth Motocross Race Schedule Every June

After competitors have qualified around California, with races in San Bernardino and Sacramento, they come to Mammoth Mountain for the Monster Energy Mammoth Motocross event every June.

In 2019, the event officially kicks off June 21st with a practice day. This is when competitors get to experience the track in a more casual setting, and spectators can first spot their favorite riders. Vet races are slated to begin June 22nd and continue into June 23rd. This is not the official competition. Often times, many returning legends will come back to the Mammoth track for the fun of the fans. You get to see professionals play around and impress the crowd with some really high-performance riding.

June 24th is another practice day. This is followed by two days of mini races, which bring out aspiring amateurs of all ages. For any spectator wondering, “Can I do this?” the mini races are the best place to find an answer, which is likely going to be, “Yes! You can do this!”

The opening races are scheduled for June 28th and June 29th. There are three in total.

  • 250 CC Races
  • FMF 2 Stroke Challenge
  • College Boy

Each one identifies certain types of riding at the professional level. These events are a perfect time to see some of the highest level riding in a competitive scenario.

The official opening races are followed with another set of competitive races on June 30th. These are:

  • 450 CC Races
  • 250B/C Open
  • Women’s Races

The events on June 30th act as a nice complement to the previous events the two days prior. You get a spectacular mix of 250 CC races with 2 stroke runs, and high-performance 450 CC races for that extra punch.

Cost of Mammoth Motocross Tickets

Spectator tickets for race days are $20 for adults and $5 for kids 7-12. 6 & under are free. Practice days are $5 for adults and free for kids 12 & under.

As you can see, this is a very cost-affordable event. If you bring the whole crew along to stay at one of our condos in Mammoth Lakes, all ages can have a blast for the whole week. The event draws in some awesome crowds. To best prepare for the event, you need to consider a few things.

First, there is no overnight parking. You’re not allowed to park on the grass because the Forest Service wants to preserve the local beetle habitats. Fortunately, you can easily get transportation to and from the venue. Public transit is readily available and there’s a bus that runs every twenty minutes.

Second, tickets will be available at the door. If you aren’t yet sure what days you want to attend, you can decide on the day! No pets are allowed at the track and lawn chairs are recommended for your comfort.

This is a fantastic event, and just another reason to stay at one of our Mammoth Mountain vacation rentals during the summer.
