Mammoth Brewing Company

It is easy to see the Mammoth Brewing Company as the leader of the bunch. The location is divided in two by a brewery and a restaurant called the EATery. While you can get loaded tots, burgers covered in Thousand Island sauce, pulled pork, Philly cheesesteaks, and more, the real focus here is on the beer. Some are seasonal, while others are part of the permanent collection. Year-round selections include Double Nut Brown, Yosemite Pale Ale, and Epic IPA, among others.

The seasonals take advantage of innovation and what is available for the season, like the Been Dessert’d Salted Caramel Breakfast Stout or the Barrel Aged Fire and Eisbock. Flights include six selections, so be sure you mix it up with a good run of both seasonal and year-round staples.

Shelter Distilling

The most promising and attractive feature of Shelter Distilling is the ambiance. The location sits in a bold and phenomenally-decorated industrial space, filled with exposed pipes and large barrels to embody that distilling spirit. It would be easy to keep all of this hidden and covered, but Shelter Distilling gives all visitors the opportunity to see the brewing process. It is both a brewery and an attraction near the local 3-bedroom vacation condos.

As far as what they provide, you are instantly brought into a world of seasonal craft spirits. Highlights include Gin the Second, 90-proof malted barley, Hungarian Oak Rested Single Malt Whiskey, Holiday Spiced Rum, and rosehip-infused Whiskey Rose. There’s also an assortment of beers, such as the Cadence Blonde, Pretty in Pink Cider, and the Filarsky Shake IPA.

The location is more known for its craft spirits and cocktails, making it a nice complement to the beer-focused brewers which dominate this list. Guests come far and wide to enjoy the series of gin, beginning with Gin the First, 100-proof orange peel and vanilla barley and ending with Gin the Third, a wheat heavy mash bill with notes of juniper. Also, check out the Gin the Second, a rye-based London dry gin with heather and sage.

Go down the list as you soak in all the luxurious notes and flavors of these treasured local spirits.
