 After a successful first winter season, Horizon Air is expanding air service to the Mammoth Mountain resort for the upcoming snow season. In addition to adding a second daily nonstop from Los Angeles, Horizon will offer new daily nonstop service from San Jose and Reno and direct (same-plane, one-stop) service from Seattle and Portland.

The Mammoth winter season flight schedule will run from Dec. 17, 2009, through April 11, 2010, and is available for sale now at www.horizonair.com or by calling 800-547-9308 (TTY at 800-682-2221).

High Altitudes Preparedness. Mammoth Lakes is situated at a high altitude of 8,200 feet (2,500m). Follow these simple guidelines to help you enjoy your mountain vacation at 1849 Condos.

  • The sun is very strong at altitude, regardless of the season. Wear SUNBLOCK (recommended 45 SPF minimum), sunglasses, and a hat.

From San Francisco & Sacramento, California USA
  • Take I-80 to U.S Hwy 50 to South Lake Tahoe, to Kingsbury Grade/Hwy 207 in Stateline, Nevada.
  • Follow Kingsbury Grade/Hwy 207 to U.S. Hwy 395 south to State Route 203
  • Mammoth Mountain is approximately 320 miles from the San Francisco/Sacramento area.
  • Tioga Pass on Hwy 120 through Yosemite National Park may be a quicker route in the summer depending on your Bay Area location. Tioga Pass is closed in the winter.

From Lake Tahoe Area and Reno, Nevada USA
  • Take U.S. Hwy 395 south to State Route 203
  • Mammoth Mountain is approximately 165 miles from Reno/Lake Tahoe.

From Las Vegas, Nevada USA
  • Take U.S. Hwy 95 north to Hwy 266 west
  • Veer left to State Route 168 to U.S. Hwy 395 north to State Route 203

To 1849 Condos

  • Take U.S. Hwy 395 to State Route 203
  • Turn West towards the town of Mammoth Lakes
  • State Route 203 turns into Main Street.
  • Turn right at the 3rd stoplight onto Canyon Blvd.
  • You have now entered a residential area. Please be considerate of your local neighbors observe the 25 mph speed limit.
  • Take the second left onto Lakeview Blvd.
  • Go to the top of the hill and you will see the 1849 Condos sign on the right side of the road. 1849 Condos is the last condo complex on Lakeview Blvd. If you reach the mountain, you have gone too far.
  • The entrance to the lobby and front desk is located directly behind the large 1849 Condos sign. [Top]

To Snowbird Condos

  • Take U.S. Hwy 395 to State Route 203
  • Turn West towards the town of Mammoth Lakes State Route 203 turns into Main Street.
  • Turn right at the 3rd stoplight onto Canyon Blvd.
  • You have now entered a residential area. Please be considerate of your local neighbors observe the 25 mph speed limit.
  • At the top of the hill, you will drive through a large parking lot (you will see Canyon Lodge ahead of you).
  • Parking lot will veer left uphill. Snowbird Condos is immediately to your left..
  • The entrance to the lobby and front desk is located directly in front of the large Snowbird Condos sign.
